How do I join the team?
Every player must try out for the team, including returners. Tryouts are typically held during the first week
of the semester in late-August/early-September. After tryouts, we offer ‘trials’ to prospective new players.
When are Tryouts?
Tryouts are during the first week of Fall classes. We will post details including specific dates, times,
locations, and logistical prerequisite requirements on both this website and our Instagram
@MensVandalsSoccer.

How many players make the team?
We would like to carry around 25-30 players.
How often does the club practice?
We practice 2-3 times per week during the Fall season, at night on the Turf Field next to Kibbie Dome.
Does the University of Idaho have an NCAA Men's team?
No. We only offer college club soccer. We are the highest level of men’s soccer competition on Idaho’s main campus.
Can I get an athletic scholarship?
No, Idaho Vandals FC is a student-run club sports organization and therefore has no affiliation whatsoever with the NCAA.
We do not have any sort of scholarship to give out, nor do we have any sort of exchange program.
What league does Idaho Vandals FC play in?
We are a member of the US College Club Soccer program. We compete in the Washington Division but also play other college club soccer teams.
Where does Idaho Vandals FC play/practice?
We play and practice on the Turf Field located next to the Kibbie Dome.
Does Idaho Vandals FC have a coach?
Our club is completely student-run by our elected club officers and captains.
How much weekly commitment is expected for club members?
In the Fall Semester, players can expect roughly 8-12 hours of weekly commitment,
with that toning down significantly in the Spring Semester.
Can Graduate Students join the team?
Yes, as long as you are a University of Idaho student that is actively taking classes during the semester, you can try out for the team.
How much does it cost to play for Idaho Vandals FC?
Because we are a club team, players have to pay dues to join the team. Typically, they are a few hundred dollars, but you easily get your money’s worth in games, gear, and experience.
If I don't make the team, are there other ways to play soccer at U of Idaho?
Yes, absolutely! The University of Idaho also has Intramural Leagues.
